Storge — The Home
Storge is the love that grows rather than strikes. It is the least dramatic of the seven and, over a long enough time frame, one of the most durable.
What Storge actually means
Storge is the affection that comes from familiarity — the bond the Greeks associated with family, where love is not declared so much as accumulated. It is built by proximity and repetition rather than revelation. In a romantic context it is the sense that being with someone is easy in a way you stopped noticing.
How it shows up in you
You are drawn to the familiar, the easy, the person whose presence lowers your shoulders the second they walk in. You would take one ordinary morning that feels safe over any grand gesture, and you understand something most people learn late: the ordinary mornings are the relationship. Very little of a life together is spent at dinner in candlelight.
Why it's a strength
Storge is what makes a relationship restful. Attachment research consistently finds that a felt sense of security — the belief that the other person is reliably there — predicts both individual wellbeing and relationship stability. People with strong Storge give that to their partners almost without effort.
Comfort and love are not the same thing, and they are very easy to confuse once you have been comfortable a long time. The honest test is not whether leaving would be hard — it is whether, knowing everything you know now, you would choose them again on purpose. Make sure you chose them rather than simply got used to them.
What balances it
Eros — the spark. Eros keeps it from going flat. Storge supplies the safety, Eros supplies the reason it still feels like a romance and not an arrangement. Read about Eros →

This is a reflective framework drawn from classical Greek thought, not a clinical instrument. Cupidt guarantees every match is a verified human; nobody can guarantee chemistry.
